Student Leadership
At Castlemaine Secondary College, student leadership is founded on our core values of Aspiration, Respect, and Empathy. We believe that every student has the capacity to lead, influence, and contribute to a positive and inclusive school culture.
Our vision is to create a student leadership culture where young people are empowered with voice and agency, trusted to shape their learning environment, and supported to act with integrity and compassion. Through authentic leadership opportunities, students will develop the confidence, skills, and responsibility to make meaningful contributions within the College and the wider community.
Student leadership at Castlemaine Secondary College aims to:
- Aspire to excellence by encouraging students to lead with purpose, initiative, and a commitment to continuous improvement
- Show Respect by valuing diverse perspectives, promoting fairness, and fostering a safe and inclusive environment for all
- Act with Empathy by listening deeply, advocating for others, and building a strong sense of belonging across the College
Central to this vision is the belief that student voice and agency are essential to a thriving school culture. Students are not only participants in their education but active partners in shaping it. Through leadership opportunities, all students are given pathways to influence decisions, express ideas, and contribute to positive change.
Together, we cultivate a school community where every student feels heard, valued, safe, and empowered.
