Communication

Communication

Regular communication is central to building strong connections between our students, staff, families and community partners. At CSC, we are committed to keeping families informed, engaged and supported in their child’s learning.
We use a range of communication channels to ensure information is shared clearly, consistently and in a timely manner.

Key Communication Channels

College Newsletter

Our CSC Newsletter is published once each term, usually just before the term begins.
It is available to families via COMPASS.

Our Communication Platform: COMPASS

COMPASS is our primary online communication and learning management system connecting students, families and the college.

Through COMPASS, families can:

  • Access student timetables, reports and attendance
  • Book Parent-Teacher meetings
  • Communicate directly with teachers via messaging
  • Access the CSC Newsletter
  • Provide consent and approve camps and excursions
  • Make payments for camps, excursions and school activities

Login details are provided at the start of each year.
If you need assistance, please contact the college on 5479 1111 or email 8824-ICT@schools.vic.gov.au.

Digital Communication

  • Email – Used for detailed information about events, policies, processes and important updates.
  • SMS – Used for reminders, announcements, promotions and urgent or emergency notifications.
  • Instagram (@castlemaine.sc) – Showcases regular updates, highlights and achievements from staff and students.

If you prefer to receive information via post, please contact us at castlemaine.sc@education.vic.gov.au.
Please note that time-sensitive information may not always arrive promptly via mail.

Direct Communication

  • Phone calls – Staff may contact families directly regarding important matters relating to students.
  • Face-to-face meetings – Opportunities include Mentor Day, Parent-Student-Teacher Conferences, Pathways meetings and information evenings.

Contacting the College

Your child’s Mentor Teacher is your main point of contact at CSC.
They are best placed to support your child’s learning, wellbeing and progress.

Due to teaching commitments, the preferred method of contact is via email.

If you do not have your child’s mentor teacher’s contact details, please phone the college and we will assist you.
