Parent/Teacher Interviews

Parent–Teacher–Student Interviews are an important opportunity for families, students, and teachers to work together to support each student’s learning, wellbeing, and progress.

Purpose

These interviews are designed to:

  • Discuss each student’s academic progress and achievement
  • Provide feedback on strengths, areas for improvement, and learning goals
  • Encourage students to reflect on their own learning and take responsibility for their progress
  • Strengthen the partnership between home and school
  • Identify ways parents and teachers can support the student moving forward

A key feature of these meetings is that students are actively involved in the conversation. This helps them develop confidence, ownership, and a deeper understanding of their learning.

When Interviews Are Held

Parent–Teacher–Student Interviews are conducted at the end of:

  • Term 1 – to review how students have settled into the year, discuss early progress, and set goals for continued improvement
  • Term 3 – to review progress made throughout the year and discuss next steps to ensure continued success
