Mentor Interview Day is an important part of starting the school year well. It gives families the opportunity to meet their child’s Mentor Teacher, build a positive connection, and complete essential administration—helping every student begin the year feeling organised, supported and ready for success.
Interviews will occur in each sub-school home area, with FLO interviews held in P2. Families will also visit the Library for school photos and access to the Compass Helpdesk, where support with logins and the Compass App is available.
During the interview, mentors will discuss your child’s goals, strengths, engagement and any information that supports their learning. Families will also complete key tasks such as:
- Updating student information (Cases21)
- Confirming education/employment level to support equity funding
- Signing required College policies (uniform, mobile phone, etc.)
- Collecting timetables, lockers, booklists and any certificates
- Returning Goldfields Library membership forms
- Checking contact details for clear, timely communication
Additional support will be available in the Library, including information from the Bus Coordinator and Career’s Team.
Mentor Interview Day ensures a calm and organised start to the year, strengthens partnerships between home and school, and ensures students begin feeling prepared, confident and ready to learn.
